Guardiola Hails City's Resilience After Liverpool Draw
City Boss Praises Team's Spirit After Second-Half Fightback
Pep Guardiola has hailed Manchester City's resilience after they survived a second-half onslaught from Liverpool to secure a 1-1 draw at Anfield on Sunday. The result leaves three sides separated at the top of the Premier League table.
City took the lead through Raheem Sterling in the first half, but Liverpool dominated the second period and equalised through Sadio Mane. The Reds continued to press for a winner, but City held on for a point.
After the game, Guardiola said he was proud of his team's performance. "We knew it would be a difficult game, but we showed great character and spirit to come back from a goal down," he said.
"Liverpool are a top team, and they made it really difficult for us in the second half. But we defended well and we created some good chances of our own. In the end, we deserved a point," he added.
City's draw means they remain in second place in the Premier League table, one point behind leaders Arsenal. Liverpool are third, two points behind City.
